Fly ash can be used in building materials production, and recycling can reduce pollution and increase economic benefits. Therefore, fly ash storage is crucial.

Coal silo storage technology is commonly used in power plants and coal mines. Concrete silos and steel silos are commonly used for coal storage. Concrete silos require a longer construction period and higher investment, while steel silos can be constructed quickly and with a smaller budget.

As the latest steel silo model, this type of silo is widely used in industries such as coal storage, grain and oil storage, brewing, building materials, environmental protection, chemicals, and energy.

This silo technology was introduced to China in the 1960s and began to be used in coal storage in the 1980s. Currently, such silos are widely used in coal mines, cement plants, grinding stations, hydropower stations, thermal power stations, and cement transfer stations.

Technical Performance

High integrity and long service life. Specialized equipment is used throughout the steel silo construction process, significantly enhancing the silo's load-bearing capacity, resulting in high overall strength, excellent stability, and superior seismic performance.

Effective sealing, rainproofing, and leakproofing. Thanks to its multi-layer undercut technology, the steel silo offers excellent sealing, preventing cement, fly ash, and other materials from clumping and hardening.

Short construction time and low cost. Through on-site construction, the forming equipment can achieve a forming speed of 3–5 meters per minute, shortening the construction period. A 15-meter-high coal silo can be constructed in 8–10 days. The use of lightweight panels throughout the silo achieves cost-effectiveness, making it significantly lighter than concrete silos.

Steel silos have a small footprint and are easy to manage. The height and diameter of steel silos can be adjusted within a wide range. The relatively small coverage area allows the separation distance between two silos to be reduced to 500 mm, thus maximizing space utilization.
